Engines are essential to all Consoles throughout LittleBigPlanet. They are the base of operations for all consoles, and each console has their own. Some consoles have built-from-scratch engines, whilst others have modifications of others. This is a list of all engines used in T-Games consoles.

Engine-type explanationsEdit

TypesEdit

Single Engine - Consoles that only operate on one runtime (If a console only has a Single engine it is not normally mentioned in the title).

Dual/Multi-Engine [Engine Type A/Engine Type B/etc] - Consoles can operate on several runtimes. If a console has multiple run-times that are the same type (For example: 'Standard'), it would be written as: Multi-Engine [Standard]. However, if a console has multiple run-times that are different from each other (For example: 'Standard' and 'Fixed-Auto'), it would be written as: 'Multi-Engine [Standard/Fixed-Auto]'.

Run-timesEdit

Standard - An engine that can turn on, activate a cartridge, then turn off again via an input by the player.

Auto - An engine that can turn on, activate a cartridge then turn off again without any input to the engine via the player directly.

Prefixes (not mandatory, can be combined)Edit

Communicating - An engine that needs to go through sequences in its runtime whereby the Console and Content Supplier exchange more signals than simply 'Content Supplier Present' and 'Content Supplier Activate' before the Content itself is activated.

Fixed - (Only to be used with 'Auto') An Auto engine that requires a signal from the player for the console to allow access to automatically be able to turn itself on, off and activate a cartridge - but not to directly go through these sequences.

Controllable - An Engine where its runtime sequences can be modified without any direct modification to the Engine from the player.

Accessable - An Engine where its runtime sequences can be controlled by foreign signals at any time.

[Fixed-Accessable] - An Engine where its runtime sequences can be controlled by foreign signals if it has been modified by means of the player via the console itself, and not through modification to the run-times directly.

[Dual-Accessable] - An Engine whereby some processes can be controlled via Accessable, and others can be controlled via Fixed-Accessable

Dual/Multi-Gateway - If an Engine has two or more possible paths to reach the same output, it becomes a Dual/Multi-Gateway Engine. For example, if a console had two paths that both lead to the console using a Standard Engine, it would become a Dual-Gateway Standard Engine.

Suffixes (not mandatory)Edit

Dual/Multi-Output - An Engine that can turn on, activate a cartridge in two possible states within the same run-time, then turn off again.
